unsure...

... found these photos. I have this piece hanging around. Could probably call it WIP , yes think I will as I really don't think it's finished. I'm at a bit of a dead end with it. Really should have it pinned up on the wall to inspire me but haven't got that far...
I quite like parts of it but as there is no artwork to go with it (naughty, naughty!) I'm not sure which direction to take with it.
...mmmm, think that last one looked like it had a heart in it, can't imagine where that could have come from!!!
Anyway here it is in its unfinished state, or maybe I should just call it finished!!
...mmm...maybe, not!
Think I'll pin it up!!

Phew!..

...that's it for another year. We made it to the end of the Pittenweem festival week in one piece! It was great fun and very busy even on the rainy days!
I only have a few photos to post here of the town/harbour as I don't believe in posting photos of work that isn't my own (unless they give me permission), sorry about that. Anyway here goes...

...The May Island...

...and another one, you can just about see the blue board outside one of the houses showing the venue number... Yes you really are in living rooms at some of the venues.

The harbour, this was I think taken on Tuesday.

... more boats at the harbour. Taken whilst scoffing an ice cream! yum, yum!

... just another view...it may be a little fuzzy, sorry.

...and again!...

... these are a couple of the little seascapes that I do. They are unfinished as I still had to add some hand stitching to the embellished surface.

...some of my inspiration!!

...and finally across the River Forth to the Bass Rock.
That's it for now I hope to be back quite soon with some more stitchy things.
Byee!
:o)
PS. Just realised that I've posted a photo of a little seascape that was in my last post, oh well, it really was a long week!

July!

No way!! Can't believe that time is going so fast. Thought I'd give you a bunch of flowers to say sorry for the lack of posts!
a little bit of colour to help us on our way.
Here's a little WIP
...as you can see most of it was done on the embellisher. Oh!
You'll never believe what I did. I dropped one of the little black screws that hold the needles in place! Yes, it bounced on the wooden floor, bounced to who knows where! I managed to track down someone who had them and arranged to get them sent to me. That done I thought that I'd shuffle things round a bit in my workroom. I hauled a huge bag of fabric out into the hallway, turned round and there it was right in front of me, yes, that little black screw staring up at me. Result! I couldn't believe that I'd found it. I carefully laid it up on the machine and finished tidying up (only a little bit you must understand) I moved a piece of work I had been doing at the embellisher and noooooo!, it knocked the little screw off on its travels again , bounce! Oh how luck must have been on my side thet day because there it was nestling on the non slip mat under the foot pedal, oh joy! ... Somehow I think I'll just keep those extra screws on order, phew!!
I'll finish on a few hearts...
...for cards, yes more of them...

...a nine patch!
Don't think I'll really be able to do many more posts in July so roll on August when I'll be in the throws of the festival. It's going to be a crazy time. I'll try and get a post out mid week to let you know how things are going.
Bye for now,
Moira

a little bit of colour...

... and some close ups! The usual, embellisher, free machining and hand stitching!

Random areas of a little panel.

I like machining with variegated thread although it's sometimes a bit of a hit or a miss getting the right colour in the right place but that's what I like about it, the unpredictability.

Maybe should have turned this photo!

It was nice to work with a bigger range of colours this time.
That's it for now.
Byee! :o)
I wish you could get the wee smiley face the right way round! I like this one with the big nose!! :o)

Happy New Year...

...this is this years work so far! You know when you just need to sit down and do something creative even when you don't really have time for it. Well I had one of these moments yesterday. This is the result. A little bottlecap pincushion, fabric, stitch and buttons. What more can a girl ask for!!...
The following photos are the Christmas ornaments I made for friends ...
... some embellished fabric......and all the trimmings...
...bells, beads and sequins...

.... and here she is another funky angel, this time a bit bigger than my other ones.

Back view.

More embellished fabric...With added stitch and beading...

...before the finishing touches, front and back view...
...some wire beads and bells...

...here it is...finished!
From the back!
A little bit of packaging and done deal!
That's it for now if you want to see more pictures from these projects I'll be putting them on my flickr pages (link on side bar).
Have a good day.
Moira.

A step further...

from my last post. I had cut off the end of the embellished fabric but hadn't known what to do with it or even where I was really going with the original piece...
...Pause....
I was looking at a comment made on one of my posts, I do check them all and visit their sites even if I don't directly comment. Thanks by the way for taking the time to comment everyone and to those who don't comment, thanks for visiting.
Anyway I have now realised that I have no idea how I came by the bottlecap pincushion tutorial so sorry I can't link to you but I can link to the actual tutorial on flickr .
The whole point of all this is that I decided to use up the excess embellished fabric on some of the bottlecaps that I've been collecting recently... I knew that they'd come in handy eventually!
Here are the results...

...decided that I would just let you feast your eyes on these...
I may add a little more stitching and beads on some.
I had been having a dilemma as to what embroidery stitch I would use and in the end I just went for simple running stitch and a herringbone stitch. Sometimes the simpler the stitch then the bettter the result. (Yes, there is a bottlecap in the base of each one!)
Anyway, hope you've enjoyed looking as much as I've enjoyed making them.
Watch this space, I definitely feel that there are more on the horizon!
