what's in a name....

A quick thank you to Maggie for mentioning me on her blog and an explanation for the name.
I was working on brooches to sell and liked the idea of calling them mini pins (I'd seen on lots of blogs that the Americans called brooches pins) and occassionally I'm called Mo then of course came mini mo pins. When setting up my blog I'd seen that minimo was being used on a blog , etsy or flickr can't remember which. When I wrote it down I realised that if I added an "o" in front and an extra "n" in the middle it reads both ways or is a mirror image if you split the two "n"s. Thought that was pretty neat, anyway that's how the name came about, "ominnimo".

Some pictures I think...

Some circles for Fiona.... Thanks for the comment....

Got to go, Postie has just delivered Cloth, Paper, Scissors....... Cup of tea required I think!

Bye for now.

Vase of flowers

Thought that you might like to see one of my vases of flowers. The vase and flowers are silk and I've used a variegated rayon thread for my free machining.
It is an unframed piece.

The kind of thing that I may put on Etsy and being unframed I thought that might make it easier for posting.
Maybe people prefer things framed.
I'm not sure... ... ...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some yummy fabric that I had to have.....you know the kind, Buy it, look at it, stroke it ........
and stash it......

Doesn't everyone do that???
Bye for now.

Found some photos

City & Guilds work, Part 1. A close up from one of my panels.
A little snippet of ribbon work from one of my crazy patchwork pieces.

This is an unframed piece that I sold. Sorry about the photo I'd already wrapped it in cellophane before I thought about taking a picture.

These all went onto cards. A bit too much work for cards I think....

This came from my C&G Part 2 work. The backgound fabric was monoprinted and I added a vintage button with some wire.
That's it for now. I'm hoping to get a list of all my favourite bloggers up soon.... there are rather a lot.
Bye for now.

Hello

Someone said this would be easy...... of course my problem is that I don't really know my way around the computer and have just had a huge fight trying to locate some images to get me started. Well here I am for what it's worth. I hope to use this blog to share some of my stitch ideas with like minded people. I love to dabble in most crafts especially if fabric, paint and stitch are involved but I suppose my real passion is free machine embroidery although I do love hand stitching especially going over the top on some crazy patchwork!
I still have lots to do to get this all how I would like it e.g. the lists of the blogs I look at etc. so all I can say for now is watch this space, that is if anyone has found me! See ya!
