25th March...

...day 10! oops, obviously there is no way that I can do a post a day!

Anyway I'm here now and actually 10 posts in one month is probably a record for me anyway.

I've been busy at the shop/gallery I was in this weekend, lots of people browsing! Mind you it was really cold in the wind with a flurry of snow now and again probably keeping most people cozy indoors!
I'm going down soon as a Tuesday is going to be my day for now, we will also be open again this weekend as there are open studios in Pittenweem (29th and 30th March).

Here are a few images of a couple of little panels that I've just put in the shop. I've float mounted them onto board and wrapped them in cellophane.

...thankfully I remembered to take the photos before I wrapped them!

... this one was just a bit of fun I was wanting to use a piece of tweed that I had. I used the embellisher to work the "plantpot" but I'm not sure if that was a good idea or not. I'd worked it from the back and it has covered a lot of the tweed. It's given it a softer look.

No matter, sometimes you just have to try a thing to see if it'll work or not.

Quilt Fair...

went to the Edinburgh Quilt Fair on Friday saw lots of lovely quilts. As usual I spent far too much on fabric and books. Not that I really needed the fabric or the books.... No I did need the books!!

I'm thinking, maybe I need a craft blog as well...I love to do so many varied things. A bit of a drawback sometime.

embellishing away...

Did this several days ago, not sure if it was much of a success. Sorry about the photos , some of them are not as clear as they should be. I cut out a few of the circles to reveal the background felt (commercial felt), then reapplied them.Think I might add some beads in the green felt circles.

I applied sheer fabric and fine silk along with some fancy yarn, then added the usual free machining.

Not sure what I'm going to do with these pieces yet, maybe a roll up pouch or bookcover.

I've still to try some wool tops but I put them up in the loft and can't be bothered getting them out, how lazy! I will soon as I want to see the results from fleece.

Thought I'd leave you with a picture of my drawers... my thread drawers of course!! I love seeing those racks on the wall with all the machine threads neatly stacked.

Somehow I don't see me managing them that way!

time flies...

can't belive that I've not said anything since the 6th. I was up and down to Pittenweem several times last week so that kept me busy. The weather kept good other than the last Saturday but luckily that was my day for stewarding so I was indoors all day. The exhibition was very successful with lots of sales which was great.These are a few of the unframed pieces I had in the exhibition... I also sent some brooches (pins) that I'd shown snippets of before...

I'm back...

... oops forgot to say that I was going off on holiday. As you can see I'm back, along with some beach photographs. I've also been doing some serious beachcombing for a course I'm going on at the end of August. I'll let you know more about it later. I'm going to photograph some of my finds soon which I'll share.

I was working on some bits and pieces for the upcoming "Edge" exhibition that will be held in Pittenweem during the arts festival Sat 4th August - Sun 12th August 2007. (Venue 10) Just incase you find yourself in Scotland during that time!

This kept me busy before my holiday so for a stitching teaser, here goes...

what's in a name....

A quick thank you to Maggie for mentioning me on her blog and an explanation for the name.
I was working on brooches to sell and liked the idea of calling them mini pins (I'd seen on lots of blogs that the Americans called brooches pins) and occassionally I'm called Mo then of course came mini mo pins. When setting up my blog I'd seen that minimo was being used on a blog , etsy or flickr can't remember which. When I wrote it down I realised that if I added an "o" in front and an extra "n" in the middle it reads both ways or is a mirror image if you split the two "n"s. Thought that was pretty neat, anyway that's how the name came about, "ominnimo".
